“Mason, born January 2006, is a gentle boy, and controls his emotions well. For example, if someone gives him a toy to take with, and later takes it back, he will not cry. He is very willing to try new things and likes learning. Mason is blind, with a cataract in his right eye; caregivers report he cannot sense light. He also has a minor sensitive need. With someone to verbally remind him, he can go up and down the stairs from the 2nd floor where he lives, to the 5th floor where the training and rehabilitation area is. He can then navigate the whole training area with his hands against the wall. In 2012, he was learning how to use scissors and do a zipper. He had already mastered feeding himself with a spoon. His speech was delayed, and he mainly repeated after adults, but when greeted he would know to respond back and say hello. He could find the source of sounds. As of September 2017, he is attending a school for the blind, and really enjoys attending. Mason is very patient with others, he only gets impatient with himself if he doesn’t do something correctly. Caregivers say he is a very gentle and obedient boy, and that he gets along with other children very well. He loves to play electronic organ, and also enjoys listening to music or someone signing. His favorite toys are puzzles and building blocks, and he also likes playing on the swings outside. Mason’s caregivers greatly hope he will find a family so he can have opportunities for education and to grow up healthy and happy!”

Mason’s file is currently with WACAP. He has a $4,000 grant available for qualified families. For more information, please email CKids@nullwacap.org.

Mason is sweet, bright, and always has a positive attitude.

He is blind, can read Braille and uses a cane but has good spatial recognition so he can get around without one in familiar areas.

His only special need is blindness! Please don’t let him wait any longer. His file is ready. He also has an awesome video but it is dated.

8 YEAR OLD REPORT
“Mason is a boy with an infectious smile. He is eight years old and is legally blind but he has an amazing memory and can recognize familiar details in his environment even where his classmates sit in the classroom. He uses a walking cane when walking in unfamiliar environments and does have some light sensitivity with his eye site. He is described as a happy child who is easy going and never complains. His favorite class is music and he can often be found singing a tune to himself. What a sweet guy!” – All God’s Children agency

If you are interested in any other child on TwentyLess, would like to talk with parents who have adopted a child who is blind, or just would like to know more about the adoption process, I’d love to help! – Jessica

TwentyLess is not an agency, it is an advocacy site run by an adoptive mom (me) who would love to see every child with a family of their very own.
