Marvin

Marvin is a smiley, active boy who loves playing with other children and with all kinds of toys.  He is 7 years old and is currently living with a foster family.   Marvin has attached well to his foster family members, which is a great sign that he’ll attach well to his forever family!

Although Marvin has left-side hemiplegia (a weakness of one side of the body), his special need doesn’t stop him from being independent! He can walk by himself, and he can go up and down stairs while holding on to the wall or a railing.  He is potty-trained.  Although he doesn’t have great use of his left hand on his weak side, his right hand is very strong and flexible.

Marvin is accustomed to a daily routine.  He feeds himself, communicates with his foster family, and cooperates well with others while playing or completing tasks like putting on his clothes or shoes.

Marvin’s file indicates that he may be developmentally delayed compared to other children his own age, but don’t let this phrase deter you from considering Marvin! Children in the care of an SWI with physiological differences often take some time to catch up.
