Please read about 13 year old Mabel! She is lovely, helpful, talented, liked by all, a normal girl who has favorite things, a good communicator, she is DETERMINED, smart, and has dreams about her future…she hopes she could be adopted and could have a family. She also has a strong desire to walk again. I fell in love with her just writing this post! Oh my! She is amazing! Watch her videos below.

Mabel is Lovely
She has dark and bright eyes with black hair and fair skin. She has a ready smile on her face. She is lovely. She is outgoing and gets along well with the others.

Mabel is Helpful
“She is a good assistant in the team of the teacher. She could help the others wear shoes and socks, deal with the clothes and hand out the clothes after shower, put away the toys after the activity. She also helps her classmates with their study.”

Mabel is Talented and Liked by all
“She is a little shy with the strangers. But after a while she could relax. She has a strong adaptability to new environment. She has a good performance. When the “story mom” came to the institute and organized the children to celebrate charismas, Mabel recited nursery songs and acclaimed by all the persons. Her reciting was smooth, clear and loud. She had smile on her face and was liked by all the people.”

Mabel is a normal girl and has Favorite Things!
“Mabel likes animation and toys. The favorite animation is happy sheep and gray wolf. She likes the clever happy sheep the most. She likes blocking. She could make a gun with the snow. She likes the little animals like the cats and dogs. She finds the little animals funny… She is just like a normal girl, simple and happy. She likes listening music especially rock and hip-hop. Her favorite singer is Zhou Jie Lun (Jay, a famous pop music singer in China). Her favorite colors are yellow and blue. She doesn’t like pink. Her favorite food is spicy food!”

Mabel is a good Communicator
“She is willing to communicate with other people. Anytime you go to her and ask her questions, she is happy to answer.”

Mabel is Determined
“Now she has to use wheelchair to move, but she tries her best to take care of herself. She goes to bathroom by herself and even takes shower by herself. She has a strong personality. Although she hurts a lot when she is receiving rehabilitation, she never cries. She said she now is a big girl and should be strong.”

Mabel is Smart
“Mabel has normal intellectual development. Now she is in the grade 5 in primary school. All the teachers like her. She is the most excellent student in the class. Her language skill and mathematic skill go beyond the others. She made rapid progress after going to school. She likes Chinese and Maths. She has a strong curiosity for knowledge. She has a strong ability to learn things. She is praised by the teachers. She is an extremely clever girl.”

Mabel has Dreams about her Future 
“She hopes she could be adopted and could have a family. She also has a strong desire to walk again.”

Mabels Daily Schedule
6am wakes up
6:30 eats breakfast (ex: steamed bun, porridge, boiled egg, milk, bread)
8:20 -11:05 goes to school
11:10 Lunch (ex: rice, vegetable, fish or meat, one bowl with meat soup)
11:30-1pm Nap
1:10 Wake up
Snack (includes fruit and biscuits)
1:45-3:55 Go to School again
4:05 take a shower
5:00 supper (ex: rice, vegetable, fish or meat, one bowl with meat soup)
5:30-7:30 homework
watch tv or play
8:30 go to bed (She sleeps well)
