Linny has a Family!

Posted on Feb 1, 2013 by in I Have a Family | 8 comments

Here are some newer photos of her in April 2015, from when a family visited her orphanage while they were adopting their child. The mom who met her said, “I know she can sit unassisted, but I don’t think she walks or crawls. They brought her to me in their arms. She was not potty trained at the time.  She spoke a little, but very, very quietly. I don’t think she had many words. There will be a lot of unknowns with her, but she was so, so sweet. She is in a decent orphanage, and it should be easy to get an update on her.”

  1. Is she on the shared list or agency?

  2. Is Linny with an agency or the shared list?

  3. She should be on the shared list right now! Send me an e-mail if you would like to know more 🙂

  4. May I share this information on our Wasatch website to help advocate for her? We had her file assigned to us at one time when she was doing so much better. It breaks my heart what has happened to her but this updated information may help her to find a home. Thank you.

  5. Yes Kathy! Please! 🙂

  6. Where is she from? What are the requirements to adopt?

  7. Hi Lori,

    Linny is in China.

These are the rules to adopt in China as far as I know.
age: 30-50 (you could possibly get a waiver for older, but they are very strict about being at least 30 yrs old)
financial: You have to make $10,000 per person in your house including the newly adopted child/children (I have seen waivers for this also)
How many children can you adopt? 1-2 (related or unrelated)
You can be single or married for the “special focus” children. A special focus child is one with a mild to severe need or a little older. Most children seem to be special focus. The non-special focus children are very new to the list, and mostly babies/toddlers with minor special needs. Linny is “special focus”.
You need to get a homestudy from a hague accredited social worker in your area. You will also need to get fingerprinted at least a couple of times and get background checks, and willing to do a lot of paperwork.
You will work with an international adoption agency.
Travel: 2-3 weeks one time in country

Let me know if you have any other questions. We can chat through e-mail also.

  8. Since she is on the shared list can you use any agency that works in her country to adopt? I would love to learn more about this sweetie!
