“We hosted 11 year old Evan this summer through CCAI hosting program. At first, he was very shy but it didn’t take long for him to start bonding with my other children. He is a great helper! The first morning he was here he made his bed without being asked. He would even help my children make their bed. He would also help my children with other daily tasks. He likes helping in the kitchen to prepare meals.”
“He loves riding his bike outside. He also enjoyed time in the country side riding a four wheeler. He likes watching sports, especially baseball. While he was here, he got to meet Astros player Jose Altuve.”
“Evan is very creative! He likes to paint, play with clay/play dough, and build with Legos. He is patient with my younger kids. He adjusted to the American diet well. He also doesn’t have trouble sleeping. It was quite obvious that he wanted to become part of a family unit. It was really neat to watch how within just the short time he was with us, we could see a more confident child.”
“His nannies say he participates more in class activities than he did before. His best friend who was also hosted this summer by another family is being adopted. I hope that Evan will soon be able to find his forever family. China’s law on age requirement prevents my family from adopting him, since I’m not quite 30. Sadly he turns 14, day before I turn 30.” – His host mom
