13 years old * AGES OUT SOON! * sweet * energetic * cheerful * smart * esotropia and nystagmus *
Brett was hosted in the U.S Summer 2016. His hosting family is willing to talk with any family who has questions about Brett and is interested in possibly adopted him.
Brett’s host mom wrote: “Since Brett has been with us, he has blossomed with big smiles and a cheerful attitude. He loves to play and sing in Chinese with our three sons. He is very curious and tries to be helpful whenever he can. Whether it is clearing his dishes after dinner or helping “Ye Ye” spread grass in the garden, he loves to do a good job and hear “Thank You” in Chinese. Brett is a great eater, sleeps well, does a good job bathing and brushing his teeth, and even makes his bed in the morning just from watching his host brothers’ example. Brett needs a family who is willing to call them their son and he will thrive!”
His special need: Brett is listed as having esotropia and nystagmus. His host family took him to an eye doctor and the eye doctor said that Brett’s poor vision is due to the removal of his lenses during cataract surgery as a young child. While he depends on glasses for his vision, which enable him to function fairly well, his vision will never improve more than 20/70 – 20/100 which will prevent him from ever having a drivers license. According to they eye doctor, Brett will qualify for free glasses under US medical programs due to his extreme need for them and he will need special assistance in school in order to read and learn. Also, there are grants and funds available for special reading machines for home use. Brett’s host family is happy to talk to anyone interested in adopting Brett and they are also willing to provide the medical report to an interested family as well. His host family has purchased a new pair of glasses for Brett.
In Fall 2016, Brett went to a host camp through MAA in his country.
His volunteer said, “He appears to be very smart. He can write several words, knew all questions a volunteer asked. And as you can see can count in English.”

Agency Grant available through MAA (Madison Adoption Associates)
Brett has a $3,000 agency grant available for his adoption with MAA. Other grants may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances. Agency grants are awarded as agency fee reductions. MAA also partners with the Brittany’s Hope Foundation for matching grants, which are given out twice a year and to families that already have their letter of approval from China.

TwentyLess is not an agency, it is an advocacy site run by an adoptive mom (me) who would love to see every child with a family of their very own.
